Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Anderson Animal Hospital is owned and operated by veterinarian Dr. John Anderson. After graduating with honors from the veterinary medicine and surgery program at the University of Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College, Dr. Anderson embarked on a career that has spanned more than 30 years. In addition to founding Anderson Animal Hospital in 1986, Dr. John Anderson has established an impressive portfolio of work with various clinics such as the Steveson Veterinary Hospital, the Garden City Veterinary Hospital Ltd., and the Capilano Pet Hospital. Prior to establishing Anderson Animal Hospital, Dr. Anderson also started the West King Edward Animal Clinic. He currently dedicates all of his professional time to Anderson Animal Hospital and serves as a member of the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia and the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Anderson brings a wide range of experience with small animals and reptiles to Anderson Animal Hospital. He is affiliated with the Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians. Continually seeking to improve his practice at Anderson Animal Hospital, Dr. Anderson continues his education by attending professional development workshops and events such as the annual Western Veterinary Conference. Moreover, Anderson Animal Hospital maintains an impressive staff of highly qualified, knowledgeable veterinary assistants and administrative personnel to ensure the best care is provided to each client’s pet. In addition to offering exceptional veterinary medical services, Anderson Animal Hospital is also available for pet boarding, daycare, and grooming services.
As a business that plays an active part in contributing to a healthy, vibrant community, Anderson Animal Hospital dedicates a significant amount of time and resources to working with The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA). As the first clinic in Vancouver to work with the BC SPCA, Anderson Animal Hospital provides free services such as microchip implantation, vaccinations, and spay/neuter procedures for cats prior to adoption. Moreover, Anderson Animal Hospital provides a home for SPCA cats until they find a new family. Additionally, Dr. Anderson donates his services to the Richmond Reptile Rescue and has spent considerable time working with the Westcoast Society for the Protection and Conservation of Reptiles. Committed to saving dogs that would otherwise face euthanasia, Dr. Anderson contributes to the Angels Under Our Wings Cocker Spaniel Rescue.
